CONSEQUENT
SUSTAINABLE RAW MATERIAL PROCUREMENT
Environmental and climate protection begins with purchasing. That’s why we source wood as a raw material exclusively from sustainably managed forests.
SUSTAINABLE
FROM THE WOOD HARVEST TO THE FINISHED PRODUCT
ZOH Wood AB is committed to sustainability along the entire value chain. This applies above all to the procurement of raw materials. We are PEFC and FSC certified and only purchase wood from sustainably managed forests, most of which are also PEFC or FSC certified. In this way, we are sending a clear message when it comes to wood purchasing.
THE MAJORITY OF OUR RAW MATERIALS COME FROM THE LOCAL AREA.
WHERE LONGER TRANSPORT ROUTES ARE NECESSARY, WE ALSO TRANSPORT OUR WOOD BY RAIL.
ON SITE
WOOD FROM THE REGION
The majority of our raw materials come from the local area, but we also take wood from within a radius of 200 km. We buy wood from all types of forest ownership : from smaller private forest owners to state forests.
When transporting the wood from the forest to the factory, we use our own, modern truck logistics and local logistics companies. Our goal is to minimize CO 2 emissions by using the most modern trucks. Where longer transport routes are necessary, we also transport our wood by rail. This is possible thanks to the nearby transshipment station in Torgau.

ASSORTMENTS AND CHOPS
Every forest is unique, every forest owner has their own objectives and requirements. We want to do justice to this and offer forest owners the opportunity to take over their wood ranges on Waldstrasse. Or we buy it on the stick, that is, we carry out the wood harvesting for him. When felling wood, we primarily use our own, highly mechanized and RAL-certified forestry technology or work with reliable forestry companies operating in the region.
WE CONTINUALLY INVEST IN MORE EFFICIENT MACHINES AND VEHICLES
IN THIS WAY, WE CONTINUALLY MINIMIZE ENERGY CONSUMPTION AND EMISSIONS.
FUTURE-ORIENTED
SUSTAINABLE INVESTMENTS
A log purchased by us is 100% processed in the factory. Depending on its properties, it is refined into high-quality products such as pallets, sawn timber or wooden products for the garden. The sawdust and wood chips resulting from production are processed into pellets, briquettes or pallet blocks. Green electricity is produced from the bark of the tree trunks in our own biomass power plants. We use the heat generated to dry our products. The bio-electricity is fed into the public grid.
We continually invest in more efficient machines and vehicles in order to continually minimize energy consumption and emissions.
