We support our employees through training and further education, and regularly inform you, for example, through our in-house employee newspaper.

ATTENTIVE
SAFETY IN THE FACTORY
Occupational safety is one of the top topics at Mercer Torgau. We have invested a lot here, especially in recent years, to create new standards and to protect the health of our employees even better.
This was preceded by a detailed analysis of all processes and risks in the factory. All areas were examined closely, potential dangers were documented and appropriate measures were defined. A tailor-made security concept was developed that addresses the special features of our company and our premises.
The result is an extensive training program for employees, a high-quality and diverse range of personal protective equipment (PPE), technical protection of the systems according to the state of the art – all of this organized by an in-house organization that regularly monitors occupational safety and fire protection together with external ones Experts re-reviewed and optimized.
Fire protection is also very important to us. A state-of-the-art sprinkler and fire alarm system reliably protects all areas of the factory from fires. To prevent these from occurring in the first place, a lot is invested in fire prevention and order and cleanliness.
Many measures have already been implemented, others are still to follow. They have one thing in common: they often consciously go beyond the legal requirements. Because health is the most important asset we have.

INITIAL AND CONTINUING EDUCATION
Mercer Torgau has developed into the market leader in many areas. This is only possible with people who are curious and open-minded – and want to develop further.
We support our teams by offering further training that enables our employees to set new impulses. Anyone who would like to change careers has the opportunity to gain additional qualifications – for example to become an excavator driver or a state-certified technician.
In this way, we create the basis to strengthen Mercer Torgau and its people for the coming challenges and to grow together in the future.

As a woodworking company, it is assumed that only men work for us. However, that is not the case! Around 15% of our employees are female and already work in many areas. We would be happy if we can recruit even more women to our team.
