SUSTAINABILITY FOR THE FUTURE
ENVIRONMENTAL AND CLIMATE PROTECTION
CONSEQUENT
GREEN PRODUCTS
For us, climate protection is a corporate task to which all areas are committed – from procurement to production to sales.
The consequence of this idea can be seen, for example, in our products , which are made from the natural product wood. This comes exclusively from sustainably managed forests and is dried using energy that is also 100% sustainable.
By consistently using wood as a raw material and producing all product components directly on site, we avoid waste and emissions from traffic.
Investments in the modernization of the fleet and systems in our factory help to further reduce emissions and electricity consumption.
Thanks to these and other investments in sustainable processes, resource conservation and waste avoidance, our products are consistently green.
LOOKED
SUSTAINABLE PROCUREMENT
Wood is an important resource, the forest is an important habitat and important for our climate.
We are therefore committed to only using wood from sustainably managed forests to manufacture our products. To do this, we look closely, talk to the forest owners, and pay attention to recognized certificates such as PEFC and FSC. In order to preserve the forest habitat, it must be maintained and reforested. This also includes the harvesting of wood and the removal of the wood in a sustainable manner.
Forestry engineers in the office and in the field also advise our partners on these questions. We also use highly mechanized and RAL-certified forestry technology that is suitable for wood harvesting and wood removal, even in certified forest areas.
THOUGHTFUL
INTEGRATED PRODUCTION
Our production is also entirely geared towards sustainability: by producing all components of our products on site, we reduce transport routes and save CO 2 . We rely on natural raw materials and consciously avoid chemicals. We meet the requirements of ISPM 15 for packaging and load carriers made of wood, for example, by drying the pallets to the required wood moisture content in the two largest channel dryers installed in Europe and in nine other drying chambers and treating them in accordance with the IPPC guidelines (ISPM 15). .
The energy for this comes from using the tree bark that we get with the logs. It is converted into renewable energy in the company’s own biomass power plants.
GREEN
REGENERATIVE ENERGY
ZOH Wood AB processes over 1.1 million cubic meters of wood every year in fully integrated production into pallets and numerous by-products such as sawn wood , pellets and briquettes .
All of the energy we need is generated in a CO2-neutral manner in our own biomass power plants, which are operated in accordance with the strict requirements of the Renewable Energy Sources Act. We obtain renewable energy in an ecologically and economically sensible way by burning the resulting tree bark, which we obtain with the logs.
