ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY
RAW MATERIAL PROCUREMENT
Environmental protection starts with the procurement of raw materials. Strict standards apply when selecting the wood, harvesting and transporting it, which protect the environment, climate and the forest itself.
STRICT STANDARDS
We apply strict criteria when selecting and harvesting the raw material wood. We only take wood from sustainably managed forests in the region – regardless of whether it is a state forest or a private forest. What is more important to us is that the forests are managed sustainably and that 100% of the wood harvested is used sensibly. Because resource conservation, climate and environmental protection starts with the harvest.
Thanks to the local proximity to the Torgau location, transport routes are short. In addition, we rely as much as possible on our own fleet of state-of-the-art trucks and local logistics companies in order to keep CO 2 emissions as low as possible.
PARTNER OF FOREST OWNERS
We can only succeed in preserving the forest – as a habitat, a green lung and a supplier of raw materials – together. That’s why we rely on consistent partnerships with forest owners – regardless of whether they are big or small!
Forestry engineers in the office and in the field advise forest owners on all questions from timber harvesting to timber sales. If desired, we can also offer an all-round, worry-free package that covers all steps. And of course we offer long-term, fair contracts and a very good price-performance ratio.
HEAT AND ELECTRICITY FROM BIOMASS
We bring this aspect to life by using bark and forest residue such as forest chips from treetops, round wood and root wood to generate sustainable energy. We use these, for example, to dry pallets.
We only take the remaining forest wood – as well as the trunks – from sustainably managed forests. This is how we ensure that the electricity we produce is 100% sustainable.
RESPONSIBLE FOREST HABITAT
At the same time, the forest has vital functions for all of us: it is a habitat for plants, animals and insects. It is a local recreation area and a green lung. CO2 storage and source of raw materials. It is important to preserve it – in the interests of environmental and climate protection as well as for our own future.
